Also present: <br /> + City Administrator Benson, John Gerhardson, Public <br /> Works Supervisor, Fern Kubalsky, Chairwoman of the <br /> S Bike/Hike Trails Committee, and Otto Christensen, <br /> Bike/Iiike Trails Member. <br /> � <br /> Mayor Van Nest announced that this was the time PUBLIC HEARING <br /> � and place for the Public Hearing concerning Block Grant <br /> Title I of the Housing and Community Development <br /> � Act of 1974 Block Grant Project Determination. <br /> • City Administrator Benson presented the Public <br /> Hearing Notice, the Affidavit of Publication, <br /> ! and the Certificate of Mailing to all Orono <br /> Commission members. <br /> � <br /> Mayor Van Nest announced that a list of eligible <br /> � activities was to be considered by the persons <br /> present for input to determine the use of the <br /> ; funds Orono will receive for the Block Grant <br /> � Program. <br /> � Dick Benson, City Administrator, stated that it <br /> appeared that $38,984. 00 would be available for <br /> � the 1977 Community Block Grant Prograrl. <br /> r Fern Kubalsky, Bike/Hike Trails Committee Chair- <br /> woman,and Otto Christensen explained the proposed <br /> � West Hennepin Joint Trails performance schedule: <br /> � West Suburban Joint Trails Commission, <br /> � December 9 , 1976, Spring Park City Hall, 7: 30 P.M. <br /> � P�Ier.tbers present were Frances Fagner, Minnetrista; <br /> Don Dill, Spring Park; Phyllis Pope and Pat Boyle, <br /> � Chanhassen; John Breckheimer, Shorewood, and <br /> Otto Christensen, Orono. <br /> � <br /> + Frances Fagner chaired the meeting in Chairman <br /> Larson' s absence. She handed out an estimate <br /> � developed by Larson showing the proposed cost for <br /> each community in the West Suburban Joint Trails <br /> � Commission. Fifteen communities are involved in <br /> this estimate for $70,000, including 564 miles <br /> � of proposed and 60 miles of existing trails. The <br /> � population base totaled 85 , 377 people.
