WHEREAS, the City Council of .the City of Orono

area; and

WHERF.I�S, Municipal Code Section 12.30, Subdivision 4
(g) (1) requi�es that the owners of all bui ldings where municipal.
sew=r becomes available shall connect such buildings to the City
sewer within 16 months of the availability of the sewer; and
WHEREAS, in order to reduce the immedi ect areancthe
burden on homeowners in the Stubbs Bay sewer ProJ
City Council has agreed to estend �he r e ectharea. �e `eguired
connection period. for properties in the p j
NOW THEREFORE, �the City Counci 1 of Orono does hereby
ordain: �
Section l. The owners of properties within the Stubbs Bay
sewer project area are he o b Subdi ision£4 �(H)thl)P b t shall be

subject to the following provisions:
1. The owners of properties which fall into one or more of
the following categories shal 1 connect the existing
residence to municipal sewer within 90 days of its
availability-

4. In the event that a septic system located in the Stubbs
Bay sewer project area and within the Shoreland Overlay
District is determined to be classified noa-c iic�on
as a result of an inspection triggered by PP .
for a building perm.it or variance pursuant to Municipal
Zoning Code Sectioa 10.56, Subdivision 17 (C�,

owner of such system shall be required to connect the

5. If �during the 60 month connection period, the City _ `
� initiates a program to determine .the 'conformity , =" _ --

� Overlay District,' the Stubbs Baysewer project area ;
� sha11 be exempt from such program to the extent that � ___
� � any systems classified as non-conforming solely as a : � _ .
result of such program shall not be subject to the
. normal one year non-conformity elimination deadline.
Section 2. Effective date. This ordinance shall be
effective upon publication.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono,
Minnesota this 27th day of "July , 1992.
