On 12-12-91 at 1911 hours, I received a radio call of a
house fire at 1830 Lakeview Terrace in the City of Orono.
This officer responded to the scene and arrived on the scene
at approx. 1912 hours .
Upon my arrival I found the rear part of the building
completely en�ulfed in flames . It should be noted that the
rear part of the building� is a business called Dale' s
Performance and the front part of the building is a
residence. The business does mechanical work on
�nowmobiles, motarcycles and jet skis. The front part of
the building is the residence of the owner, Dale
Pfeilsticker.
Once I had arrived on the scene and secured the area and
determined that there were no occupants in the structure,
this offie�r spoke ta a party by the name of Terrance Linn
Hawley, . Mr. Hawley stated that he had been
working in the shop area of Dale' s Performance and had lit a
welder when flames began to move across the floor of the
shop area, into a eorner and up a wall. Mr. Hawley stated
that he grabbed a fire extinguisher and began to extinguish
the fire and as he stated, he thought he had the fire out
when it flared up again. He stated at that tim� he ran to
the upper part of the structure where he told Mr.
Pfeilsticker and other persons home at that time, to call
911 , that there was a fire in the shop and for them to get
out of the residenee.
It is unknown exactly what time the fire started because due
to the excitement when the person attempted to call 911 , the
�lectricity and the phones were out at the residence and
they had to run to a nearby neighbors residence to call 911 .
This officer remained on the scene until 2235 hours ,
securing the scene and maintaining traffic flow through the
area. Also for crowd control for the numerous residents and
on lookers that arrived in the area.
The State Fire Marshall arrived on the scene at approx. 2400
hours . Numerous fire departments assisted the Long Lake

Fire Department at this incident. The fire departments
including Wayzata, Maple Plain, Plymouth and possibly Hamel.
It is unsure at the time of this report exactly what time
the fire was brought under control, but there were numerous
flareups throughout the entire time that I was there and it
did appear at the time that I left at 2235 hours that the
fire was out.
The individual that I spoke of earlier, Terry Hawley, lives
at the address of 4948 Three Points Blvd, in the City of
Mound, phone number 472-4603.
No further information at this time.
