Butler moved, Searles seconcled, because of CONDITIONAL bSE PERMYT
the hardship involved, to approve a temporary 3925 Watertown Road

of Mr. Podany. A neighbor, Henry Halladay,
� who was prepared to object to the variance,
� agreed to �he continuation.

policy statement:
� Lagoons that are contiguous or connected to
Lake Minnetonka or joined by dredging, shall
be classified as part of Lake Psinnetonka and
shall conform to existing regulations.

The Council instructed the legal department DUTCH ELM DISEASE PROGRAI�4
to draft a contract incorporating the necessary
�•-�y��__rements, to initiate a Dutch Elm Program
� with P1re Gerald Beach as a private contractor.
This will be on the agenda March 25, 1975 for
Council approval.
Welsh moved, Butler seconded, to appoint Dr. APPOINTMENT
Harold Panuska as the Civil Defense Coordinator. Civil Defense Coordinator

�he City Council to discuss a proposal to
construct a new ice arena .that would be shared
�y all participating units in the West Hennepin
County area. Y�7re Tom Nelson, Chairman of the
Orono Ice Arena Steering Committee, discussed
- the need for further detailed planning which
�ill incorporate a front-end feasibility study
for Council considerationv
Checks totaling $1,000 donated by the Hockey
Boosters were returned until a special fund
is established for a front-en� study.

the engineering report regarding the North Specifications & Plans
Shore Drive Ravine and to adopt Resolution North Shore Drive Ravine
#580, ordering the City Engineer to prepare
specifications and plans for Council approval
at the next meeting. Motion, Ayes (4) -Plays {0) .
The City Council instructed the attorney to NON-CONFORMING USE
review the Day Distributing request to add to Day Distributing
a non-conforming residence and to place it on
the next agenda as one of the first items to
be heard.
Prokopiev Lawsuit: The Council directed the PROROPIEV LAPJSUIT
Attorney to file an answer to complaint.
�The City Attorney discussed the status of the EISINGER LANDFILL
isinger landfill. The Council instructed the
Engineer and the Attorney to address itself to
the status of the applicanto
The Engineer was instructed to notify SEt•aER & WATER PETITION
petitioners, William Wear and Rebers Wear & Rebers
Construction, that water and sewer are not
available to accomodate the area that has
requested to connect to the sewer line.

the Engineer's report on the petition for Public Hearing Date
