discussed with the City Council the proposed
• zoning incorporating the land use plan, the
• classification of streets, and the formulation
�f official maps. The City engineer was
� instructed by the City Council to work with
the Planning Commission on these matters.

Van Dale, Inc. the permit fee, State fee, and Van Dale, Inc.

has withdrawn its request to construct a ware-

Representatives of the T.M.G. Investment Corp. PRELIP�lINARY PLAT
� appeared before the City Council to discuss their laatertown Road & �6
' proposed development at Watertown Road and County
Road �6. It was agreed by all parties concerned
� that the status of the rerouting of Hennepin
�County Highway �6 in conjunction with the proposed
ring route was a factor and that the Hennepin County
Highway Department was involved at this time with
• developing a plan to acquire right-of-ways in this
area. It was further agreed that we would request a
• progress report on the status of this proposed high-
� way construction as soon as it is available.

City of Orono that they are requesting a rate

r_�quest since it was not noted what percentage
• �.ncrease of the existing rate was being requested.

�chL City Administrator to continue researching
� ��1e various alternatives incorporating operating
costs, legal and engineering data. This report
� ����s requested to be submitted back to the City
��u�icil by December 19, 1974.

� It was agreed by the representative5 of Minnetrista ZONING & BUILDING
� and Orono at the October 17, 1974 noon meeting that AGREEMENT
e should enter into a completely new agreement (Continued)
i as soon as possible and that in the meanti.me, it
� was necessary to justify over-time for the Building
and Zoning Director and the Building Inspector in
� order to keep up with the increased work load.
It was further decided that a final acceptable
� draft for both Cities concerning the Building
and Zoning Agreement should be completed and
• developed into the frame-work of Orono and
i�innetrista by December 19, 1974.

� The City of Orono is to receive a reply from
� Niinnetrista concernsng the status of the
proposed agreement by November 1, 1974.

� Paurus moved, Butler seconded, to approve a ASSESSOR'S BOND
$500.00 bond for Mr. Glen Hawkyard, the West
� Hennepin Assessing District Assessor. Motion,

Searles moved, Butler aeconded, to instruct the WEST HENNEPIN ASSESSING
• City Administrator to draft a memo addressing DISTRICT
�e West Hennepin Assessing District requesting
e District to move its assessing office into
� the new City of Orono administration offices as
soon as space is available. The rationale for
� relocating the District Assessing office is
�ased upon economics and desired efficiency
• of the total District. Motion, Ayes (5) -

� The City Administrator reported that he had CRYSTAL BAY ROAD
contacted Minnetonka Beach concerning their Dead-end Request
• desire to reroute or dead-end the Crystal Bay
P.��ad. Further progress will be reported at the
i November 12, 1974 meeting.

� The City Administrator presented a status report CHIEF OF POLICE REPORT
concerning the employment of a Police Chief.
• Twenty-three ca�didates will be tested Thursday,
October 24, 1974. The results of the tests will
� be reviewed and evaluated in approximately four-
� teen days, after which an Oral Board will be formed
to interview the ten most successful candidates.
� The City Council will interview the top three
�uccessful candidates for the position of Chief
Police. This position should be filled by
. December 1, 1974.

• The City Council instructed the PZayor and MINNETONKA BEACH
Administrator to draft a letter to the Metro- Sewer Line
� politan Council requesting to be advised of the
status of the City of Orono's sewer line
� located on the Crystal Bay Road, when and if,
Minnetonka Beach should be served by this pipe.
•
� A brief discussion was held on the Comprehensive COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE PLAN
Guide Plan. rdetropolitan Council is drafting
� a new progress report and should be received
by the City of Orono in five days.

• A progress schedule was outlined as follows:
December 2, 1974 - special Council meeting to
• review and adopt the Comprehensive Guide Plan
�nd call for a public hearing on rezoning.
December 18, 1974 - Hold public hearing on
• rezoning.
� December 19, 1974 - Adopt rezoning ordinance.
� Welsh moved, Butler seconded, to adopt Ordinance ORDINANCE NO. 170
� No. 170, An Ordinance To Amend The t��unicipal Zoning Amendments
Code Of Orono By Amending Sections 32.500,
� 32.514, 32.520, 32.530 And 32.540 And Repealing
Section 32.535 And 32.550, be adopted. Motion,

The City Attorney reported on the proposed PROPOSED SIGN ORDINANCE
• sign ordinance and requested it be placed on
• the November 12, 1974 Council agenda.
