Councilman Franzel absent , Stubbs moved, Searles seconded, that the MINUTES Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 28, �.96g, be approved as written . Motion, Ayes (3) - Nays (0), Butterfield abstaining because he did not attend the July 28 meeting. Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, to MARINA LICENSE .appr�ve a 1g69 �oint use license for the Minnetonka Power Squadron Minnetonka Power Squadron, and look further into requiremen�s for sanitation facilities next year , Motion, Ayes (4 ) - �� Nays (0) . Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, that VARIANCE the garage setback variance request of 347o Birch Lane Donald Georgi, 3�470 Birch Lane, be referred to the Planning C�mmission . Motion, Ayes (�+ ) - Nays (0) . Stubbs moved, Searles seconded, that VARIAN CE the lot size variance request of Dale Olson, 136g North Arm Drive 1369 North Arm Drive, be referred to the Planning Commission . Motion, Ayes (�4 � - Nays (0) . Robert Scott of the Hennepin County Park PARK RESERVE DISTRICT Reserve District appeared in connection with a request to allow 250 acres of Orono � to be added to Baker Park. About 15 citizens appeared to ask questions about � the acquisition . Ross moved, Searles seconded, that the STREET VACATION request of Herbert Ebert and Albin Farnquist for a street vacation between 3295 Crystal Bay Road an d 3309 Crystal Bay Road, be denied. Motion, Ayes (3) - Nays (0) . Butterfield abstaining. Butterfield moved, Searles seconded, that CONDITIONAL USE PER�IIT the conditional use permit application of Land Fill- 3505 Wayzata Blvd. Norman Larsan, 3505 ��fayzata Boulevard, be referred to the Planning Commission with the request that they also consider alternate uses of the land and the flow of tvater through the land. Motion , Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . Stubbs moved, Searles secvnded, that RESOLUTI�N #290 Resolution #290 , A Resolution Amending Edgewood Hills Road Resolution #267 Reassigning Certain Street Numbers , be adopted. r�lotion , Ayes {4) - Nays �0) . Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, that RESOLUTION #291 Resolution #291 , A Resolution Appointing Election E2ection Judges For The Referendum Election To Be Held September 9 , 1969 And The Village Election To Be Held November 4 , 1969 , be adopted. Motion , Ayes (4) - Nays (0� . MINLTTES OF A REGULAR MEETING HELD AUGUST 11, Zg69 Page 3 Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, that ORDINANCE N0. 108 � Ordinance No. 108, An Ordinance To Amend Fireworks The Municipal Code Of Orono By Adding A Chapter 85 Thereto To Provide For Regulation Of Fireworks , be adopted. Motion, Ayes (� ) - Nays (0) , Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, to BID AWARD award the bid to Allied Blacktop for Blacktop & Seal Coating $20,067.50 with work to be completed as specified in the bid. Motion, Ayes (� ) - Nays (0) . The Council informally agreed to meet with JOINT MEETING DATE the Long Lake Council on Thursday, August 21, Orono-Long Lake Councils 196g at 7:30 P.M. Butterfield �noved, Searles seconded, that SUBSTITUTE BUILDING the appointment of George A, Hanson as INSPECTOR�ASSESSOR substitute Building Inspector�Assessor at the rate of $4 .00 per hour effective immediately, be approved . Motion, Ayes (�1 ) - Nays (0) . Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, that EMPLOYMENT the employment of Marvin E, williams as a Liquor Store part time lit�uor store clerk at $1 .75 per hour effective immediately; that Mona Gleason, part time c3erk, be changed to full time licluor store clerk at $1 .75 per hour; and that the salaries of Mona Gleason, Dick Quain, and Marvin W�lliams be increased to $2 .00 per hour effective Sep�.ember l, 1969, be approved . Motion, Ayes ( 3) - Nays (0), Stubbs abstaining , Butterfield moved, Searles seconded, that UTILITY PERMIT the request of Northwestern Bell Telephone Northwestern Bell Telephone Company to place buried cable on Ferndale Avenue North, be approved , Motion, Ayes (� ) - Nays (0) .
