Dear Ms. Copeland: �
You have been notified that the unlicensed/inoperable vehicle that exists on your property is in
violation of the Orono Zoning Ordinance. As we discussed on the phone today, you feel you need
more time repair your unlicensed vehicle. We will give you an additional ten days, until May 12,
1997,to license or remove your car. Please contact me at the City offices if there aze any questions.

Conditions exist on the indicated property which constitute a violation of the followin� section(s) of the
Orono Zoning Ordinance:
X SECTION 9.50. JUNK CARS, FURNITURE, HDUSEH4LD FUR11�'ISHINGS AND
APPLIANCES STORED ON PUBLIC OR FRIVATE PROPERTY.
It is unlawful to park or store any unlicensed, unregistered or inaperable motar vehicle lacking
essential parts,hausehold furnishings or app�iances,or parts or components thereof, on any property,
public ar private, �r►less housed within a la�vfully erected building. Any vioTatian of this Section
is declared to b� a nuisance and upon seven days written notice to the owner, as sho�vn by the
records in the office of the County Auditor, of private premises on which such material is found, tl�e
City may remove the sanie and certify the cost of such removal as any other sp�cial assessment.
For the purpose of this Section, an inoperable motor vehicie shall be de�ned as lacking, inctuding
but not limited to, parts essential to operatic�n, such parts being wheels, tires, motor, drive train,
battery, or having two or more flat tires, or having the interior, including the driver's position, used
for storage in such a manner that no person can operate the vehicle.

SECTION 9.55. MAINTENANCE�F PRIVATE PROPERTY.
SUBD. 1. It is the duty of the owner af every vacant properiy and tl�e o�mer anci occupant of every
oceupied property to maintain same in a neat, clean and presentable manner free of any junk, debris,
refuse, Iitter, deac�trees, or noxiaus weeds, and to remove ail ather public health or safety hazards
therefrom.
SU$D. 2. Grass and Weeds. The owner ar occupant of every lot ar parcel shall regularly cut or
otherwise maintain all grass and weeds therean at a height of not zn.are than six (6} inches.
