Regular r4eeting of the Village Council , 7: 30 P.M.

with the following members present: T4ayor
� Ross, Councilmen Franzel, Searles , and Stubbs.
Butterfield late.
Searles moved, Stubbs seconded, that the MINUTES
Aiinutes of the Regular Tleeting of A1ay 12,
1969, be approved. P�Iotion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) .
The f ollowin g appeared: E. Holtkamp and
his attorney, H. Coult ,concerning division;
H. Laue concerning neighbor ' s garage.
Searles moved, Franzel seconded, that he be REPRESENTATIVE

between Long La,ke and Orono, and that the
Mayors meet f�r �urxher n,e.gmtiations . A�otion,

Franzel moved, Searles seconded, that the VARIANCE
request of Herman Renner, 3180 North Shore 3180 North Shore Drive
Drive, for a side setback variance for
construction of a garage, be approved.

Searles moved, Franzel seconded, that the DIVISION
request of Robert Armstrong, 215 North Arm 215 North Arm Lane
Lane, for a division, be given preliminary
approval . r�otion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) ,
Searles moved, Stubbs seconded, that the �IV�SION
request of Earl Holtkamp, 3805 North Shore 3805 North Shore Drive
Drive for a division, be referred to the
Planning Commission for review and recommen-
dation. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (4} ,
5earles moved, Franzel seconded, that the VARIANCE
Planning Commission hold a public hearing at 3895 North Shore Drive
their next regular meeting regarding the
requ�st of Lai,�rence Berquist, 3895 North
Shore Drive for a variance. Motion,

Stubbs moved, Franzel seconded, that the BUILDABLE LOT
request of C. 1N. Beckett, 1050 Loma Linda 1050 Loma Linda Avenue
Avcrsue , f�r pe�mission to sell a lot as a
' buildable lot, be approi*ed. P?otion, Ayes (4) -

Franze3 moved, Searles seconded, that the VARIANCE
request of James Carson, 1317 North Arm 1317 North Arm Drive
Drive, for a garage setback variance, be
approved. A4otion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) .
Franzel moved, Searles seconded, that the REARRANGEA4ENT OF LOTS
recommendation of the P•l�nning Commission t�inship' s Sub. Spring Park
for the rearrangement of lots owned by
James Dargovel , tNinship 's Sub. Sp�ing Park,
be approved, r4otion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) .
Sparles moved, Stubbs seconded, that the BUILDABILITY OF LOT
request of Helen Gilster for a determination 2460 Carman Street
as to whether the lot at 2460 Carman Street
is a buildable lot, be referred to the
Planning Commission for review and recommen-
dation. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) .
Stubbs moved, Butterfield seconded, that a RECONSTRUCTION
letter be drafted and sent to the Hennepin County Road #15
County Engineer stating the Council ' s
reconsideration and approval of the proposed
reconstruction of County Road #15, and also
stating the Council 's understanding that
this approval does not imply approval of
further expansion of County Road #15 east
of Navarre; and stating that the Council gives
approval irith the hone that the County will
be able to provide adec{uate solutions to
problems which this reconstruction will create.

Franzel moved, Searles seconded, that the pURCHASE
recommendation of the Chief of Police that we police Department
purchase a Stephenson Radax unit, at a cost
of $995. 00 exchange, be approved. I�qotion,
Ayes (5) - Nays (0) .
Franzel moved, Butterfield seconded, that RESOLUTION #284
Resolution #284, A Resolution Amending
Assessments For Sanitary Sewer Improvement
1965LS-1 , be adopted. "-lotion, Ayes (5) -
Nays (0) .
Stubbs moved, Searles seconded, that the EDiPLOYI•�ENT
recommendation of the Public I�Vorks Supervisor Street Department
that we hire Alan D. Hendricks for part-time
summer employment at $2. 00 per hour, be
, approved. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) .

recommendation o£ the Inspector that �6, 00
be refunded to Richard �iimore, 3536 Lyric
Avenue, for an unused building permit, be

Butterfield moved, Searles seconded, that the TRADE LICENSES
following Trade Licenses , be approved:

Searles moved, Franzel seconded, that the SEVVER REPORT
Village Engineer be requested to make a
report on sewer on Lafayette Road from the
existing sewer out to the terminus , and a
report on sewer to serve the area of tne
petition for sewer from Highwood Road area,
Psotion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) .
Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, that the STREET P�20GRAT? Ci-iANGi.�
changes recommended by the PubZic 6Yorks
Supervisor for the 1969 street program, be
approved. �•4otion, Ayes (S) - Nays (0) .
Franzel moved, Searles seconded, that the MARINAS
Village Attorney be requested to notify
Gayle' s Marina and BroWrt' s Bay A�iarina that
they are inviolation of the ordinances and
regulations concerning marinas , and asking
each owner to appear at the next re�,ular
Council meeting. A9otion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) .
Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, that REAPPOINTP�TENT
George Hanson be reappointed as Assessor Assessor
until such time as a new full-time Assessor
can be hired. Motinn, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) .
Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, that the BILLS
Al1 Fund Accounts 4036 through 4105 and Lic{uor
Store Accounts 6833 through 6362 , be paid.
