Stubbs moved, Searles seconded, that the CONDITIONAL USE P�RI�•tIT request of Richard Tuthill , dbs Unity Investment Corporation, for a conditional use permit, be �iven preliminary approval ; final approval withheld until final plans have been presented to Council . r4otion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . After a discussion of the results of the recent A�IARINA LICENSES meetings and the investigations conducted regard- ing the c{uestion of licensing marinas and of the facts as found by the Council to exist concerning the problems of lake usage, lake pollution and regulation in the Villa�;e of Orono , and the information required to control these problems, the Council took the following action on the pending applications for marina licenses: 5tubbs moved, Searles seconded, that the J. V. Spates marina license application of J. V. Spates be approved for 8 slips, with the stipulation that Council receives written assurance from the adjacent Texaco station that Air. Spates ' clientele may use their sanitary facilities. rTotion, Ayes (S) - Nays (0) . Searles moved, Franzel seconded, that the NORTH SHORE PURE OIL marina license application of North Shore Pure Oil be approved for 3 slips , for repair use only. i•7otion, Ayes (S) - Nays (0) . Searles moved, Franzel seconded, that the STUBBS BAY MARINA marina license application of Stubbs Bay rlarina be approved for 31 slips and rec{uests for new variances should be presented to Council . Stubbs movecl, Searles seconded, tliat the marina GAYLE"S TtARINA . license application of Gayle 's P�!arina be approved for 134 slips , �vith the stipulations that extra slips be gone by A�Iay 1, 1969, and that approved sanitary facilities must be ' kept available to the clientele; a variance granted for sidelot setback provisions . Motion, Ayes (S) - Nays (0) . Butterfield moved, Franzel seconded, that the NORTH STAR P�ARiNA marina license application of North Star P�Iarina be approved for 95 slips, granted with variances as applied for. Plotion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) , Franzel moved, Searles seconded, that the NORTH SHORE DRIVE TRARTNA application of North Shore Drive Marina for a building permit and marina license be approved for 64 water slips, and no building permit. hiotion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) , Butterfield abstaining. Searles moved, Stubbs seconded, to amend and clarify the motion to state that application for expanded storage of boats on the land and in the lake Ue deferred for one year, and to approve 64 water slips , rTotion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . Searles moved, Stubbs seconded, tliat the amended motion be amended with the insertion af "and building permit, as applied �or", after "lake" and before "be deferred for one year. Stubbs moved, Searles seconded, that the marina PAUL' S LANDING license application of Paul ' s Landing for 51 slips be approved, as applied for. nTotinn, Ayes (5) - N�.ys (0) . Searles moved, Franzel seconded, that the REED' S, INC. marina license application of Reed' s, Inc . , be approved for SO slips, with the stipulation that sanitary facilities be maintained and available. Butterfield moved, Stubbs seconded, to amend the motion to approve 38 slips . A�otion on amendment, Ayes (3) - Nays (2) . Franzel and Searles voting Nay. ATotion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . Searles moved, Stubbs seconded, that the A4INNETONKA B�AT jVORKS, INC marina license application of TTinnetonlca Boat j�Jorks, Inc. , for a marina license be approved for 69 slips, as appliec? for. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . . MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING HELD MARCH 31 , 1969 Page 3 Franzel moved, Stubbs seconded, that the FUNDS - GOLF COURSE request of the Public Works Supervisor for an appropriation of funds to buy a cash register, tables, and chairs, for the golf course, in the amouiit of $895, 00, be approved. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . Stubbs moved, Franzel seconded, that the ANIr9AL WARDEN recommendation of the Chief of Police that Gary Dahl be hired as part-time animal warden, effective immediately, at $2. 50 per hour, plus mileage, be approved, n4otion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) .
