RE: Deck Construction
Dear Mr. Christensen:
It has come to the attention of this office that you have constructed a deck on the above
referenced property without a building pennit. The City of Orono regulates the amount of
impervious surfaces on properties within 1000 feet of the lake. When your house was build it
was build to the maximum amount of hardcover allowed.
Therefore The City has no alternative but to require removal of the deck. A deadline of April 1,
2004 has been established. If this deadline is not met The City will initiate legal action. If you
have any questions feel free to contact the Building and Zoning staff.

Dear Mr. Christensen:
This is to clarify a letter froin this office on 3-11-04. Only the portion of the deck that was added
is required to be removed. The ariginal building permit allowed a 7 x 11 deck. If a 7 x 11 deck
remains the city will have no issue with the property.
