We undc:rstand t iat you propose to remove the bearing wa11 supporting the roof mono-truss and acjacenhand-franed roof and replace it with a pair of 16" microlams nested in the mono-truss. The truss will be mod:fied to allow this nesting of the support beam. V`7e recommend :hat the bottom chord of the truss be cut and then attached to the microlam using fae-naiTed joist Yngers. The vertical end member ofthe truss should be cut to bear on the microlam. Toenail the vertic;al to the beam. Also provide two 2x6 verticals, one on f;ach side of each truss, attacheto the tc and the bottom chords and any web members_Use construction adhesive and four 1 fd nail:,for each connection. These verticals should be placed to abut the modified truss verticaC and the new beam. Tlie opiriions and recommendations contained in this report are based on infcrmation provided by you arid on design-chr:ck calculations performed that were based on that informaX.ion_This report does not aldress any por:ion of the structure other than those areas mentioned. It does not provide any warranti, either ::xpressed or implied, for any portion of the existing structiare.
