of unit, it appears the insert is in compliance with the required setback distance of twelve inches plus. I will change the

Hi Willie,
I left a message on your phone and then found your email address. The attachment is page 18 of the installation manual
for the QVI35F6 that was installed at 2640 Kelly Ave.
The measurement for the mantel is 12 inches from the top of the unit(Basically the top of the door).
The surround on this unit is very small, less than 3 inches... It is easy to measure from the wrong place. We needed an
extra inch to fit this fireplace in, so we raised the mantel two inches to be safe.
The installation page that I included shows top of the unit, going past the surround, to the bottom of the mantel. I hope
this will assist in passing the inspection for this fireplace. Please let me know at your earliest convenience. Thank you for
