The Village Council met on the above date
� with the following members present: B2ayor
Searles, Councilmen �utler, tTassengale,
r Paurus, and V��elsh.

� I3utler moved, ��Jelsh seconded, that the MINUTES
I�tinutes of the Reqular i�ieeting of Dec^��er 10,
� 1973, be approved, P�iotion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) .

• :iro Frec� Curtis appeared before the Village FRED CURTIS
Council and introduced himself as an applicant
� for consideration to being appointed to the
Orono Planning Commission.

� i�Ir. George I�Iastny, Chairman of the Orono Park GEORGE 11ASTNY REPORT
Commission, appeared before the Council to
• discuss a proposed parks systems analysis
� program. The Council agreed to give cohsideration
to the systems analysis proposal as presented
� by Brauer & Associates as well as investigate
other planning services that the Village may
� be able to useo This item will be brought up
again at the January 28, 1974 agenda for
• Council consideration. Tire Mastny also
� presented a report on property valuations of
a �iece of propoerty at Stubbs Bay that the
� Park Commission is considering for future park
propertye i10 set time was made on the purchase.
� P�Zr. T�iastny also informed the Council that
Dr. Panuska felt the time had come to hold an
• informational public hearing concerning the Luce
Line Trail for those individuals who had property
f that bordered on the trail. One night during
� the first or second week in February was the
time that the hearing hopefully could be held.

• The Council also discussed with I�Zr. Mastny the
possibility of reorganizing the membership of
� the Park Commission from its current eleven
members down to nine members. i�ir o i�Iastny
� thought that this proposal had some advantagas
and that he would like to discuss this with the
• other members of the Park Commissiono

T°�elsh moved, Butler seconded, to reorganize the REORGANIZE PLANNING
� Planning Commission from eleven members to nine cOMMISSION
� members. The two positions that would be eliminated
were the ones occupied by A2r. Kokesh, whose term
• ex�ired on January 1, 1974, and P�ro Searles, whose
term would ha•ve expired on January 1, 1975. The
� Village Council further instructed the Village Attorney
to bring forth at the next Council meeting a proposed

Bay Road and to report to the Council on
• ways in which traffic could be slowed downe
Some of the methods suggested to be investi-
� gated were the installation of traffic bumps
� in the road, the establishment of one-way
traffic on the road, or the posting of
� closed to through traffic signs on the road.

� motion to approve the building permits for 2130 Shevlin Drive

� as a part of the building �ermit. The Engineer' s
comments are to be attached to the building
