• SIMPLEXGRINNELL WARRANTY STATEMENT
SimpiexGrinnell warrants to the purchaser of new SimplexGrinnell product(s)that during the
effective period of the warranty, such product(s)shall be free from defects in the workmanship
and material.
Warranty Period
The warranty period will terminate immediately folfowing the earliest occurrence of either of the
following:
» 18 months have elapsed following the shipment of any system or subsystem of
SimplexGrinnell to the customer site, or
» 12 months have elapsed following the final connection, operation or beneficial use of all
or any part of the system.
SimplexGrinnell Obligation Under fhe Terms of the Warranty:
SimplexGrinnetl sole responsibility shall be to repair, adjust or replace at its option any
SimplexGrinnefl product when it fails during this period provided purchaser has promptly reported
such failure to SimplexGrinnell in writing. Replacement parts provided under warranty of products
may contain used parts,which are equivalent to new parts when used. Replacement parts wi(I be
warranted only for the balance of the equipment warranty. SimplexGrinnell agrees to continue to
honor all of the unexpired expressed warranties specified above on defective equipment after
transfer of the equipment to the purchasers'customer, provided the purchasers'customer
assumes the purchasers'obligations specified herein. Except for the express warranties stated
herein, SimplexGrinnell disclaims all warranties on products furnished hereunder, including
' without limitation,all implied warranties of inerchantability and fitness for a particular purpose,
and the stated warranties are in lieu of or in connection with the performance of the products.The
, seller shall not be liable for any direct, incidental or consequential loss or damage to the
purchaser or user of this equipment arising out of the failure of the equipment to operate in
excess of the said equipment. SimplexGrinnell makes no warranty and no warranty shall be
deemed to exist,that the purchaser holds the goods free of claim of any third pe�son by way of
patent infringement or the like_
Purchaser Obligation Under the Terms of the Warranty
This wa�ranty shall be contingent upon the p�oper installation and use of the product(s). Such
warranty shall not apply if the product failure is the result of accident, unusual physical, electrical
or electromechanical error,failure of electrical power, air conditioning or humidity control,
construction dust, damaging foreign substances, transportation or causes other than
manufacturing defects. Purchaser agrees to provide full and free access to authorized
SimplexGrinnell employees.
Warranty Service Hours
Services provided under this warranty will be performed during 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday
through Friday, excluding locally observed SimplexGrinnell Holidays. Off hours response is
available as an extra cost service option.
Warranty Exclusions
Labor,travel and mileage for:
» Service provided outside of SimplexGrinnell normal business hours.
» Programming and/or label changes and batteries.
» Failure due to external causes (lightning surges,construction dust, etc.)other than
manufacturing defects.
. » Electrical work extemal to the equipment supplied by SimplexGrinnell or maintenance of
accessories, alterations, attachments ar other devices nat ft�mished by SimplexGrinnell.
» Coverage of equipment classed as water flow monitoring/control devices installed in or
- on water piping.

PRELlMINARY INSTALLATION REVIEWS '
Electrical Contractors Responsibilities:
» Contractor to field verify building conditions, exact device locations and material
prior to performing any work or ordering of materials.
» Safeguarding all material shipped to the o�ce or job site.
» Store all items (including all documentation)in a clean, dry, and safe place until
needed.
» Notify all appropriate personnel if an existing system must be shut down while the
new system is being installed.
» *Instakl all conduit and wiring, mount and terminate all field devices/equipment
including installation of end-of-line devices.
» `Maintain an as-buift copy of any supplied drawings for field changes or additions and
locations of end-of-fine devices.
» *Check all wiring for opens,grounds and shorts.
» Identify high voltage circuit breaker number and location of breaker inside
any connected cabinet.
» *Troubleshoot and repair of any field wiring problems.
» ``Terminate wiring in control panels.
» "`Set addresses on addressable devices.
» "Schedule final/phased installation at least five (5)days in advance.
» Please do not power up system.
» Detectors shall not be installed until after the construction cleanup of afl trades is '
complete and final. (NFPA 72)
» For Fire Alarm Panels, coordinate with owner to have two(2)telephone lines
installed for monitoring (one fine for security systems)prior to final testinc�. �
