At your request we have completed a structural evaluation of the existing water to er structure for
SPRINT antenna additions at the 154'-0" rad center elevation. The analysis prese ted herein was
prepared per IBC 2006/2009 and AWWA-D100-11 Standard for Welded Carbo Steel Tanks or
Water Storage with a 90 mph (3-Sec Gust) Basic Wind Speed. We prepa� d the attached
evaluation for loading as described in the Integrated Design Services CDs dated Ju y 16, 2014.
Per our analysis:
1. The existing water tower sfructure has adequate capacity to support the roposed loading
under 90 mph wind conditions as prescribed by ANSI/TIA-222-G.
2. The existing handrail system has adequate capacity to support the proposed oading under 90
mph wind conditions as prescribed by ANSI/TIA-222-G.
Customer shall review the antenna and equipment listing presented herein nd confirm that
the structure is accurately represented by our assumptions.

ANALYSIS � RESULTS:
Analysis Assumptions and Limitations
■ Information in the original design drawings or in the previous analysis that could ot be
verified by ISE is assumed to be correct.
■ All support structure components are assumed to be in adequate condition to car their
full design capacity.
■ The configuration of antennas, transmission cables, mounts and other appurtenan s is
assumed to be as specified in this report.
■ Emergency/essential communication equipment is not located on the structure.
Antenna Loading:
The proposed SPRINT antennas will be attached to an existing handrail structure n the
top of the water tank. The antennas and ancillary equipment will be mounted directly o the
handrail structure at a rad center elevation of 154 feet above grade. The equi ment
configurations considered for this evaluation are as follows:

The handrail system was analyzed using Risa-3D, a general p rpose 3-dimensional
structural analysis software. The software was used to calculate me ber stresses and joint
reactions under dead loads and wind loads as prescribed by A A-D100-11, and to
perform AISC steel code checks (ASD). Risa-3D output is attached.
Critical Post Reactions at Tank Connection per Risa-3D output:

Post connection to tank roof with a 6" Sq. X 3/8" th. steel plate
Tank bearing, Fb�y = 1844/ (62) = 51.2 psi OK

Water Tower—
The additional wind loads and equipment dead loads exerted on the water to er structure
by the proposed antenna configuration are negligible in relation to the size of he tower in
terms of wind area and fluid capacity. The existing water tower structure h s adequate
capacity for the proposed antenna and equipment configuration.
CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
On the basis of our analytical and comparative engineering evaluation we f d that the
existing water tower structure and handrail system have adequate capa ity for the
Proposed SPRINT antenna configuration. This analysis assumes that t e existing
structures are in adequate condition to carry their full design capacity.
