RE: Request for tree/brush removal within 75' of Lake Classen
Dear Mr. &Mrs. Lurton:
The City has received several requests by you and/or your contractor to conduct
tree/brush removal within 75' of the shoreline existing on your property at 3135
Jamestown Road. The City perrnits limited clearing to retain views to the lake, however
prohibits cutting of anything greater than 6" in diameter (unless dead or dise sed) and
intensive vegetation clearing or clear cutting. A permit through the building in pections
department must be applied for prior to any cutting (permit attached for your r ference).
As part of that permit, a plan/sketch must be submitted illustrating what is to b cut and
what will remain. The purpose of the permit and plan/sketch is to ensure the c tting lies
within the allowable parameters of the City Code.
It is recommended that your contractor apply for the permit as a pre-cutting ins ection is
required prior to any work on site to ensure the plan/sketch is followed accordin ly.
