A review of the application and site <br /> inspection reveals yo�i are requestinq to construct a shed roof <br /> addition to an existing gtriicture that apparently is beinq used <br /> as a barn for the housinc; of horses. <br /> This structure waf. issued a building permit in 1982 for <br /> "storage shed" use. Tliat structure has never met the setback <br /> standards for use as a horse barn, which requires a minimum 75' <br /> setback to all property itnes per attached Municipal Zoninq Code <br /> Section 10.20, Subdivisio�t 3 (N). This building cannot be used <br /> for housinq horses under 0=�:^o's zoninq requirements since it <br /> nppenrs to be less than 20' from your south lot line. <br /> You are further advised that keeping of horses requires a <br /> minimum of 3 acres for the first horse and l additional �cre for <br /> each additional horse. Your property is only 2 acres in area. <br /> Reepinq horses on your property does not meet the standards <br /> required by City ordinances. A site inspection today revealed 2 <br /> horses being keFt. <br /> The Citx of Orono cannot issue a building permit to enlarge <br /> or revise this structure bec:suse ft does not meet the required <br /> setbacks for an animal housinq use.
