! We have prepared �his preliminary report of our geo�echnical
�xploration for this project; our final repoz� with detailed
recommendatzons will fol].ow in the coming week. Ydur contractor,
Robert Fit�h Construction, is building a new single-family �esidence
a� �he cornex of Jacobs Mill Road and Stubbs Bay Road North in
Orono, Minnesota. xhe house will be a two-story st�ucture with a
; � full basem�nt an.d an attached garage, coverixzg a footprint df abaut
j 5,700 scZuare feet. The unheated garage will b� on the west side c�f
' j the house. I

; 1 We drilled five barings fdr Che project vn August 25, 2004; the
' � basemen� e�xcavation had already been started when we drilJ.ed. zn
j borings 7. ��hrough 4, we encountered about 2 to 6 feet of existing
' J fill and possib].e fill. Below the ground surface, existing �ill and
; # possible f�.11, we found naturally-occuzring lean clay and fat clay
� with varyiz�g amottnts af sand to the boring termination depths.
