During the inspection I noted
violations had occurred on your stairway to the lake project. They are as follows:
1. Installation of a drain pipe to the lake. As discussed before, the City does not allow
excavation in the 0-75' zone. Installing a pipe requires excavation. It is also the City's
intent to run storm water thru the 75' zone to clean contaminates out before reaching the
lake.
2. Excavating a"lawn mower path" into the hillside. During our preconstruction meeting I
reminded you that no excavation is allowed in the 0-75' zone.
The City must require you to remove the drain pipe and fill in the lawn mower path
excavation. I am not sure who is responsible for cutting a hole in the silt fence to allow dirty
water to enter the illegal drain, but this needs to be repaired ASAP. A deadline of October 3,
2005 has been established for removal of the drain and restoration of the excavation for the lawn
mower. If this deadline is not met the City may initiate legal action.
Sincerely,
 -

Lyle Oman
Building Official
LO/dml
CC: Ted Capra
Telephone(952)249-4600 • Fax(952)249-4616
www.ci.orono.mn.us
