Dear Ms. Hamman:
I am writing in regards to the motor vehicle parked in the front yard of your property located at
the above described address, tax parcel number 35-118-23-14-0004. Even though the vehicle
appears to be currently licensed and road worthy, it is not allowed to be parked on the grass in
the front yard. The City of Orono Zoning Ordinance requires that vehicles be parked in areas
other than a required yard (front) and even then must be at least 10 feet from the property line.
I have already discussed this issue with the City Attorney.
Please find enclosed a copy of the ordinance for your convenience. The vehicle must be
moved/removed by September 28, 2009. Staff from this Office will inspect the property on that
date to confirm compliance. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
