Council as to ���heth�r or not it had �stablished a policy of pur-
chasing gasoline, oil and services for village ro1_ling stock and
equipment at any particular locations �ither in or outsid� the villagc
of Orono.He was told that no policy of this type had becn adopted and
• �i�.�,t generally the most convenient service station� T,��ere being used
��l order to spr�ad the b�sin.ess ar_ ound.

th� Village of Zong I��,ke ' s proposal to construct a sewage treatment
plant within the corporate limits of the Village of Orono and a speci-
fic objection to tiie sit� now proposed by Long I,ake . Th� Cl�rk and
En�ineer w�rc directed to consult with the Lngineers for th� Village
of I,on� Lake to determin� their proposed sch�dule and plan of action
on this matter.

A motion by Turnham, secondcd by Schmitt, to df;n�r the request for

for no more than ttivo bldg. sites was carried unani�}�usly.
Re. Dcan Neilso�. non-conforming use of the old Crystal Bay church
(Case �40) . The recommcndation of th� Plan. Com. was reviewed. A motion
by Turnham second�d by Ross to accept the P1an.Com. report and approve
th� request failed to pass. 3 nays , 2 yeas.

/ ;�ular meeting of the Council on Feb.l2th,1g62 .A r�commendation of th�
Plan.Com. dat�d F�b.22 ,1962 was read. The Mayor invited comments from
those present.

the followin�: lj The proposed use of land is bcst possible use it
can be put to, the site being unsuitable for residcntial dcvelopmen�
because of its size , shape arid th� borddring high�n�ay and railway.
2� The structur� propos�d is not on- u�ith a"concrete block" dr.sign
.;o typical of inany now in existenc� ,but rather of a high grade modern
�;esign with complete larldscapin� and screening shrubbery. 3) Special
-rnphasis was placcd on the fact that,at this time , there is no specific
*,r_.��ant or definite use planned for the building.

, nd Salisbury Adams ;C .Clark,T.Barnes ,and several others ,resid�nts of

PJlayor Ross sta,ted t�iat he had received consider_able corres-
pond�nce both pro and con on thc rezonin� qucstion and read alolzd
samplings of cach.He then declared the public hearing clos�d.
A motion by Schmitt and seconded by Bagl�y to deny the r�-
zoning request of i�r. �'Volf as prescr�ted �vas carried with 3 aye�
and 2 nayes. Some discussion followed and a motion by Turnham,
second_ed by ��uady,to reconsider the :�uestion was carri�d.
After furthr,r discussion Bagley submitted and Turnham secon�ed
the follo�Ning �otion: The Council r�jects the proposal submitted by
i�r.Wolf,but it will r�view any specific proposal that ]�as th� ��n�r-
al endorsement of the owner� of the property in c�uestion and tr�e
int�rested neighbors. This motion carried by 3 ��-es and 1 nay. •
