Last year, after having had our system inspected, we complied with the new code change by having risers added to our tanks, and new 20" covers installed. At that time(2/17/99), we also had our tanks fully pumped(see enclosed invoice from Elmer Peterson Co.). Please let us lrnow if there is anything further we need to do. A summary of the inspection is below. Se�tic Tank Condition 1. Pumpout needed within one year(last pumpout date 5/22/93). The septic system is non-compliant due to a lack of a three foot sepazation distance between the bottom • of the drainfield to the seasonally high watertable. The three foot requirement is a State Code,not a City Code. A soil boring was conducted to determine the depth of the seasonally watertable. 'j'he sephc system must be replaced by December 31,2010. Enclosed is a list of state licensed septic contractors who work in Orono on a regulaz basis. Also enclosed is a fact sheet explaining how a septic system functions properly.
