Hi Chris,
When you get a moment, can you give me a call and give me some background on this issue?

Hi Lili,
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I am traveling for business in Wisconsin this week and will be
back in town tomorrow. I could talk tomorrow at 130PM if you are still around before the holiday weekend.
We did not submit a variance application because we have done the math and can see that we wouldn't meet
the structural coverage or hard cover rules. We can't pay$700.00 for application, $1200 for a survey, and
$2500 for escrow when we have a survey already and know we don't meet the requirements.
We are stuck.

>After hours of conversation with you and the staff at the city of Orono planning commission we have no
choice but to try and sell our recently purchased lake house on lake Minnetonka. Do to your complete
unwillingness to work with us and lack of effort to even understand our situation, our dreams of a family lake
house on lake Minnetonka have been shattered.

>The living level of the house on the lake side is about 10 to 15 feet off the ground and without a deck the
house is literally unusable. There is no place for our 2 and 4 year old daughters to go safely other then down
on the lower lawn with out a deck. We have no place to enjoy our view of the lake, have a bbq, or entertain
friends and family.
>
>We have put our blood, sweat, tears, hearts, and hard earned money into this lake house only to have the
experience ripped away from us by orono's unreasonable policies. We put hours and hours into the property
since we purchased it in February of 2012. New roof, new paint, hours of clean up and fix up, all for nothing.
We understand the rules and the need for them but in this case it's so simple and so obvious if somebody
would have taken the time to come out to the property you could easily how reasonable our request is.

>Whats even more depressing and emotional for us is that everyone else on our street has a deck facing the
lake and they have bigger homes then ours on similar size lots. We may not have the most expensive house
on the lake but we take pride in what we have made out there. We are honest, hard working, caring, and tax
paying members of the community and feel we are being treated with complete disrespect and being pushed
aside. We were only trying to build a safe/functional deck on the lake side of the house so we could have a
chance at enjoying the biggest investment we have ever made in our lives.

every other house on the entire lake)they we have been forced to put our hopes and dreams up for sale.
