Re: Variance application #16-3852
The City of Orono is required to notify you within fifteen (15) business days as to the status of your application for
a variance for a fence on property located at 1380 Rest Point Road. Our preliminary review indicates that your
application is incomplete.
1. While I understand that you desire a waiver of the fee from the City Council, the city requires the fee
be paid as part of the application. Should the Council grant the waiver, the fee will be refunded. The fee
is $700.00
2. An escrow agreement and deposit ($700) must be provided. I have attached the agreement form.
3. The survey should show the proposed fence location, and the 75’ lake yard boundary. The survey
provided does not show this information. Your practical difficulties statement requests permission to
install a fence into the lake shore setback, though the survey provided does not show this. Please adjust
the survey to reflect the limits of the fence.
Your application is scheduled to appear before the Planning Commission on Monday, August 15, however, this
item will not be on the agenda unless the application is complete.
