Mr. Gibbs,
My husband and I built our Orono home with Stonewood LLC completed in
August 2011. After the build's completion we noticed some septic smells coming
out of our septic tank at the base of the hill (the field). We also noticed some damp
spots on the field. We brought this up to Stonewood's supervisor, Dan Toleno, who
informed us it was normal. Being unsure if this was the correct answer I contacted
the city and asked for the mound to be inspected. We were told again, all was well.
Today I had a septic pumping service come to inspect the system and tell us if
it needed to be pumped yet. That gentleman after walking over our mound
informed me that the mound had a problem. He said there was intense smell
coming from it (which we knew) and several damp areas on the mound which were
not normal in today's high heat and dry conditions (i.e. 90 degrees, no rain for past
several days). He advised me to immediately write you and contact our builder. I
am herein doing so. I also left you a voice mail today.
I would like you to investigate our mound at your first opportunity and
provide me with your assessment. We are still under a 1 year warranty with
Stonewood LLC and I want any problems with the septic to be resolved before that
period elapses because I contracted for a working, fully operating system and paid
in full for that. I must admit, I am very distressed to discover today that this system
is not working properly. Please contact me to let me know what you are able to do
to help us correct this situation. Thank you.
Bst Regards,
