Dear Evelyn:
We have reviewed the building permit survey prepared by Demars-Gabriel, Inc. dated 2-19-08 for the
proposed house construction at 3240 Graham Hill Road. We have the following preliminary comments with
regards to engineering matters:
• The overall proposed grading appears to be acceptable however the grades away from the rear
yard walkout are less than 1% and should be revised to provide positive drainage away from the
house. The grading plan should be revised to provide at least a 2% grade away from the house at
all points around the perimeter to ensure drainage away from the house.
• The proposed erosion control should be installed prior to any work on site.
• The proposed driveway culvert materials and grade should be reviewed and approved by Don
DeBaere with Orono Public Works prior to issuance of the building permit.
