Dear Mr. Holloway:
This report is a follow up to our meeting this day at the existing reside+�ce located at �62(> Fo�
Street in Orono. The purpose for the trip was to inspect the structural �raming for the ne��
addition.The }sareh area an the south side of the house has been enclo;ed to create the ne��
additio�.The existing roof trusses over the porch were left intact as is My observations and
recommtndatians based on my inspection of the framing are as follow s:
- the existing roof truss ends which were cut off and stitten,�d with OSB gusset plates
adj�t to�e new addition are adequate as constructed,
- the double 1-3/4"x 12" lv! beam which was installed to s .pport the cut trus� en�s
adjacent to the new addition is adequate provided that the lvl beam is supported at the
(4)four bearing locations indicated below. The top�f the vl benm was nnrcht��!rl��ti,-n
at the ends to 8-1/2"to aceommodate the roo.fslope. Alih �ugh the r2<��ch rt•chac�� �ht�
shear capacity, the Ivl6eam is adequate structurall�'u>ith �he heari�ag supporl
locations indicated. The intermediate support nost,�.fur th li�l beam beGrr orr t{tt�
