We have decided to go with a seasonal dock, as sited on the plan. The location has not changed since our meeting. The dock has only become longer to cover the wetland area. Attached is a User Defined/General Permit Application for a Dock. The owners would like to access Dickey Lake, on which their property resides. We are proposing a cedar dock, to be taken out and put in seasonally. The dock would provide access through the wetland without disturbing the wetland below. The dimensions of the dock would be approximately 88' long by 3.5' wide. As we discussed at our meeting, we are also proposing a mowed path of the existing natural grasses to provide access to the dock from the yard. I have provided the following description to the MCWD: This path would not be fertilized. This path would go through the Orono 50' buffer and the MCWD 35' buffer(already within the 50' Orono buffer). We are proposing the path to 1) minimize the cost of the amount of dock, 2)for aesthetic reasons, as the path is flat land coming from the yard and not needing to be elevated, and 3)giving people a specific path to take within the buffer, therefore not disturbing other areas of natural grass within the buffer.
