edminminnehahacreek,org
Web Slte: Dear Applicart:
www.minnehahacreek.org The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District(MCWD) received your application for a Rule F:
Shoreline Stabilization permit for installation of 32 feet of riprap at 1080 Ferndale Rd W, Orono,
on 08/23/04. An inspection of the site for compliance with Rule F was completed on September
9,200A. At this time, the Permit Application#04-476 for installation of 32 feet ofIprap is being
denied due to the following conditions:
Board of Menegers • Presence of organic soils. Subsection 3(b)(6) of MCWD Rule F states permits for routine
riprap projects shall not have solls classified as either organic or peat.
Pameia Broct . Presence of aquatic and wetland plants. A DNR permit is equired for the removal of aquatic
James Calklns and wetland vegetation,
• There appears to be no active erosion problem on site; in other words, there appears to be no
ane Fsher need for the project.
Susan Goetz • The lot and project appears to barder wstlands and not Lake Minnetonka. Installing riprap
within a wetland would constitute an unnecessary filling oa wetland.
