As noted to you earlier this week, after discussing the matter with the City Attorney, we have concluded that the existing
detached garage at 960 West Ferndale Road does not have to be removed when the principal residence structure (the
house) is demolished. The garage may remain in place.
The appropriate process to detach a portion of the 960 West Ferndale parcel and attach it to the 905 West Ferndale
parcel is by application for a 'subdivision of a lot line rearrangement'. I believe you have the correct application forms.
Once the application is received, it will be scheduled for a public hearing at the Planning Commission and final action by
the City Council.
