A RESOLOTION DESIGNATING SIGNATQRES
� FOR THE MINNESOTA BOARD OF PEACE OFFICER
STANDARDS AND TRAINING DISBURSEMENT MONEY
� WHEREAS, on July 1 , 1982, the State of Minnesota began
collecting money as a surcharge on all moving traffic offenses;
and �
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 626.86 provides these funds
as reimbursement to cities for some of the costs of their peace
officer's continuing education; and �
WHEREAS , two persons are required to sign the
application forms on behalf of the local units of government; and
WHEREAS, the requirement fo.r signatures are to be the
• chief law enforcement officer of the agency and another officer
of the governi�ng body; and
WHEREAS; Stephen X. Sullivan became the new Police Chief
� on August 19, 1991, replacing Melvin H. Kilbo; and
WHEREAS , Ronald J. Moorse became the new Orono City
Administ 'rator on September 9, 1991 , replacing Mark E.
Bernhardson. .
� NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Chief of Police
Stephen X. Sullivan and Ronald J. Moorse, Orono City
Administrator, be authorized to sign the application forms for
the reimbursement money provided by the POST Board.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono
Minnesota at a regular meeting held July 27, 1992.
