RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
NO. 3031
A RESOLUTION INDICATING
THE CITY OF ORONO'S WILLINGNESS
TO COOPERATE WITH MNDOT IN ITS EFFORTS
TO MITIGATE THE IMPACT OF UPGRADING HIGHWAY 12
USING THE EXISTING CORRIDOR
WHEREAS, each of the alternate corridors f or the
upgrading of Highway 12 will affect existing and planned land
uses; and
WHEREAS, the City of Orono feels strongly that
upgrading Highway 12 using the existing corridor would have the
least overall impact on existing and planned land uses; and
WHEREAS, the impacts related to using the existing
Highway 12 corridor can be significantly mitigated; and
WHEREAS, MnDOT is the responsible agency for mitigation
of these impacts; and
WHEREAS, the City of Orono understands that the ability
of MnDOT to effectively mitigate the impacts may depend on
Orono's cooperation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Orono i•s willing to cooperate with MnDOT and the City
of Long Lake to enhance the ability of MnDOT to mitigate the
impacts of upgrading Highway 12 using the existing corridor.
