A RSSOLIITION REQIISSTING
� AN EXTENSION OF THE '
METROPOLITAN COIINCII� FOR SIIBMISSION OF
COMPREH�NSIVS PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 3
WHEREAS, the City of Orono (hereinafter "City) on
November 30, 1989 received a second mailing of the Metropo3itan . , :
- Council's annual statement of changes as it relates to the City;
and

�� WHLREAS, the City has no record of the original
transmittal delivered by Metropolitan Council on Apri1 10, 1989; - ��

: `_� ' ` WHER$AS;"�the' 1988' Systems Information Statement �asks� :._ .�
that:�the City's On-site Septic•�.Code be reviewed. for compliance :' '•': �
with` M:P:C.A'.'s'�'new `regulations received� by the inspections` :
department of the City on December 7, 1989; and . :. , .
• �' .._.. .. WHER$AS, . the Waste_Water. Management section of the
� Systems Information Statement asks that the current MUSA map be
reviewed for purposes of adjustment and/or amendment; and .
•-• WHSREAS, the transportation section of the Systems �
Information Statement will require a review of the City's .
transportation plan, originally set forth in the 1980 Community
Management Plan and approved by the Metropolitan Council on June
25, 1981; and .
WHER$AS, per Minnesota Statute 473.856, the 1976
Metropolitan Council's Land Pl�nning Act, local units of
government have within 9 months after receiving an amendment to
Metropolitan System P3.an to determine if an amendment is
necessary and to prepare such amendment for review by the
Council. .
NOW, THER$FOR$ BS IT RSSOLV$D, that the City Council of '
Orono hereby directs its staff to submit this resolution to the '
Metropolitan Counci3 seeking an extension from the origina3
January 1990 deadline to October 1990 for submittal of an ,
amendment to its Comprehensive Community Management Plan.
