Wayzata, MN 55391
Dear Mr. Micheletti:
This letter is regarding the existing septic system on your property. During a recent compliance
inspection of your property, I found a problem with your septic system. It appears that you are
doing major remodeling on your house and have relocated the driveway. During the remodeling
you have neglected to protect your existing septic system drainfield. The new driveway is
constructed over half of the existing drainfield. The other half of the drainfield has been driven
over repeatedly thus compacting the soil on the drainfield. This activity has a major impact on
the septic system drainfield. The drainfield should have been protected without any activity
within 20 feet of it.
Due to the fact that the drainfield is now classified as an experimental system you must show that
your property can accommodate a new drainfield. This must include location and design of a
new drainfield. All of this work must be done by October 31, 2001 by a licensed septic designer.
The septic tank covers are not watertight so they must be sealed before they are backfilled. This
will prevent any surface water from entering the septic tanks and entering the drainfield.
As soon as your existing septic system drainfield shows any signs of failure, you will be required
to construct a new drainfield that meets all city and state requirements.
If you have any questions please call the number listed above.
Sincerely,
Q
Matt Bolterman
