MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, May 23, 2011 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />ROLL CALL <br />The Orono City Council met on the above - mentioned date with the following members present: Acting <br />Mayor Aaron Printup, and Council Members Cynthia Bremer, Doug Franchot, and David Rahn. <br />Representing Staff were City Administrator Jessica Loftus, Finance Director Ron Olson, City Attorney <br />Soren Mattick, City Clerk Lin Vee, Assistant Administrator of Long -Term Strategic Planning Mike <br />Gaffron, Planning Coordinator Melanie Curtis, City Engineer Tom Kellogg, and Recorder Jackie Young. <br />Acting Mayor Printup called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />1. CONSENT AGENDA <br />Item Nos. 12, 13, 14, and 16 were added to the consent agenda. <br />Franchot moved, Rahn seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. VOTE: Ayes 4, <br />Nays 0. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />• *2. COUNCIL WORK SESSION OF MAY 9, 2011 <br />Franchot moved, Rahn seconded, to approve the minutes of the Orono City Council work session of <br />May 9, 2011, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />*3. RECONVENED LOCAL BOARD OF APPEAL AND EQUALIZATION OF MAY 9, 2011 <br />Franchot moved, Rahn seconded, to approve the minutes of the reconvened Local Board of Appeal <br />and Equalization of May 9, 2011, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />*4. REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF MAY 9, 2011 <br />Franchot moved, Rahn seconded, to approve the minutes of the regular Orono City Council <br />meeting of May 9, 2011, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />PRESENTATION <br />5. TOUR de TONKA, TIM LITFIN <br />Tim Litfin, Minnetonka Community Education, addressed the City Council on the upcoming 2011 Tour <br />de Tonka that is scheduled to take place on August 6, 2011. <br />• Litfin stated the 2010 Tour de Tonka was a good success with riders from 12 states and 170 communities <br />being represented, and 2,425 riders overall. There were 331 riders who participated in the 16 -mile run, <br />332 riders who participated in the 23 -mile run, 904 riders who participated in the 38 -mile run, 498 riders <br />Page 1 of 24 <br />
