How do I find out the cost of connecting to the city sewer system? We just bought a house in
Orono and previous owner already paid initial assessment to city for this. Looking for next
steps to take to switch from septic to city sewer. Thanks.

It looks like the assessment was already assessed to that property and the SAC was paid in 1982, so the only thing that
would have to be paid would be the sewer connection charge. Everything else has been paid.
This fee would be paid by your contractor when they pull the permit.
$50.00 for Sewer Connection
$5.00 for State Surcharge
$2.00 if they Mail in permit
Total $55.00 to $57.00 will be due
This must be applied for and paid for prior to starting the work. Here is a link to the permit application:
