A RESOLIITION APPROVING .
PRELIMINARY DESIGN OF
'COIINTY ROAD 116 (WII.LOW DRIVE)
FROM HIGHWAY 12 TO MEDINA BORDER
WHERSAS, the City of Orono is a municipal corporation
existing under the laws of riinnesota; and
WHEREAS, the City of Orono has been informed that
Hennepin County will construct County Road 116 north of Orono in
the City of Medina; and � �
WHEREAS, the City of Orono remains opposed to the �
construction of County Road 116 South of Highway 55, it is in the '
best interest of the City of Orono that if constructed to the �
M edina border that it consider extending County Road 116 south to �
Highway 12. •

• WHEREAS , residents abutting the proposed road .
improvement expressed concerns related to the construction and
alignment.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orono Council
do es h er eby approv e the pr el imi nary d es i gn of County Road 116 �
from Highway 12 north to the Orono/Mec9ina borc3er subj ect to the �
County working with abutting property owners to address concerns fi
identified at the July 25, 1989, public information meeting and
the September 25, 1989, public hearing. •
BE IT FIIRTHER RESOLVED, that final design approval is
contingent upon th� following conditions: � -
1. The City of Orono and Hennepin County enter into an
agreement that clearly states that County Road 116 will "
not extend south of Highway 12 without the consent of �
the City of Orono. �
2. Hennepin County will use its best efforts to promote
the installation of a traffic semaphore at the '
intersection of Highway 12 and Willow Drive. �

3 . Hennepin County will by request stake the
construction limits of the project to assist property
owners in determining the amount of impact of the
construction.
Adopted by the Orono City Council on this 23rd day of
October, 1989.
