M. • June 24, 1968 f The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present: Mayor Ross, Councilmen Butterfield, Franzel, Searles, and Stubbs. • • Searles moved, Franzel seconded, that the MINUTES ',ginutes of the Regular Meeting of June 10, 1968) be approved. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0). The Mayor announced that this was the time 68SL -1 and the place for a Public Hearing on the matter of street lighting in the area of • Casco Circle. The Village Clerk read the • Notice of Public Hearing and presented the Affidavit of Publication and the Certificate of Mailing to affected property owners. The following appeared concerning the matter: C. Fist, V. Waters, E. C. Gilbert, Mrs. L. Pickering, Mr. $ Mrs. G. Scheffler, W. T. • Mills, Village Engineer, J. Jordan and G. Kretzmer of Northern States Power Company, •; presented preliminary plans for the proposed • improvement. After all persons were heard, the public hearing was closed. H. J. Hanson appeared concerning Concordia Street easement. Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, that RESOLUTION #244 Resolution #244, A Resolution Accepting Preliminary And Final Plans For 68SL -1 And Ordering The Improvement, To Be Assessed Against The Benefited Property Owners, be • adopted. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0). • Franzel moved, Searles seconded, that the VARIANCE • Variance request of Adam Huzio be approved 712 Tonkawa Road as recommended by the Planning Commission. • Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0). • Stubbs moved, Searles seconded, that the VARIANCE Variance request of Sigrid Johnson be 1790 Shadywood Road approved subject to the recommendations of the Planning Commission. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0). Searles moved, Franzel seconded, that the SET -UP LICENSE application of Orville Keiran for a set- Stubbs Bay Resort • up license at the Stubbs Bay Resort, be denied. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0). • Searles moved, Franzel seconded, that RESOLUTION #246 • Resolution #246, A Resolution Urging The Lake Minnetonka Conservation District • To Order Sanitary Sewer Service Throughout The District, be adopted. Motion, Ayes (5) - • Nays (0) . • Franzel moved, Searles seconded, that an SEWER SERVICE ordinance amending the Village Code to MANDATORY HOOK -UP • provide for mandatory hook -up of all properties under one acre, under grade, or having other code deficiencies by December 31, 1968, be approved. Motion, Ayes (5) - • Nays (0). Searles moved, Franzel seconded, that an SEWER SERVICE ordinance amending Village Code be ordered MANDATORY HOOK -UP requiring all others where sewer service is available be hooked up by December 31, 1969. Motion, Ayes (5) - • Nays (0). • Butterfield moved, Franzel seconded, that SALARY ADJUSTMENT • the following salary adjustments recommended by the Village Administrator effective • July 1, 1968, be approved; Motion, . Ayes (5) - Nays (0). • Marvin Daniels - $590 per month Joanne Lattin - $2.35 per hour • John Gerhardson - $3.46 per hour • Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, that 68SR -2 the funds for Willow Drive Street Improvement 68SR -2, be appropriated from Village surplus. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0). • • Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, that Resolution #247, A Resolution Setting Standards For Settlement Of Slope Base- ments For 68SR -1 And Ordering Condemnation Thereof, be adopted. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (1). Stubbs voting Nay. • Searles moved, Franzel seconded, that the Village Attorney be instructed not to search right -of -way records further in • the matter of Old Crystal Bay Road. • Motion, Ayes (3) - Nays (2). Stubbs and Butterfield voting Nay. • Searles moved, Stubbs seconded, that the request of the Village of Long Lake to provide building inspection service on a temporary basis at the rate of $10 per • inspection be payable to the Village of Orono, that a contract be negotiated to provide this service to Long Lake and that the salary of Michael Scheller, Building Inspector, be advanced $35 per month, effective June 16, 1968.
