• Regular Meeting of the Village Council,
June 10, 1968
• The Village Council met on the above date
with the following members present: Mayor
Ross, Councilmen Butterfield, Franzel,
Searles, and Stubbs.

• Searles moved, Stubbs seconded, that the
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 27,
• 1968, be approved. motion, Ayes (5) -
Nays (0).
•
The following appeared: G. Faber, L. Hork,
H. Renner, R. Gasch, W. Parten, H. Willis,
Mrs. H. Willis; Mrs. A. Purvey, and Mrs. A.
• Kuehn concerning 'Marinas. 0. Keiran
concerning Stubbs Bay Resort setup license.
W. Wear concerning 68SR -1. D. Tuthill
concerning a Town House project.

Searles moved, Franzel seconded, that the
• request of E. H. Hennings for a division
' at 4475 Bayside Road, be referred to the
Planning Commission, with consideration
• given for a 50' easement beyond the present
30' easement. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0).
•
Stubbs moved, Butterfield seconded, that
the request of Percy Duehn for a division
• at 1160 North Arm Drive, be referred to the
Planning Commission, with the request that
this division meet Village requirements.
Motion, Ayes (5) - Nuys (0).

Franzel moved, Searles seconded, that the
• request of the Unity Investment Corporation
for a conditional use permit to construct
a 65 -unit townhouse at 2535 Shadywood Road,
be referred to the Planning Commission for
review and recommendation, Motion, Ayes (5)
Nays (0).
Stubbs moved, Butterfield seconded, that
the request of Adam Huzio at 712 Tonkawa
Road for a 3' setback variance for a boat
• shelter, be referred to the Planning
' Commission. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0).

Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, that
the request of the V.F.W. for a building
permit and club liquor license at 3445
Lyric Avenue, be denied as not suitable
at this location, but could be appropriate
in another location in Orono. Motion,
Ayes (5) - Nays (0).
Stubbs moved, Butterfield seconded, that
the 3.2 Beer On & Off Sale, and Setup
Licenses for 1968 -1969, be held in
abeyance for report on violations of
license or on property. Motion, Ayes (5)
Nays (0).
Stubbs moved, Searles seconded, that
Ordinance NO.97, An Ordinance To Amend
Chapter 34, Residential Zoning Districts,
By Adding Section 34.221 To The Municipal
Code Of Orono So As To Allow Duplexes
Adjacent To Commercial And Industrial
Districts, be adopted. Motion, Ayes (5) -
Nays (0).
Butterfield. moved, Searles seconded, that
the Contractor's Estimate #5, G. L.
Contracting, Inc., be paid. Motion,
Ayes (5) - Nays (0).
Franzel moved, Searles seconded, that
Resolution #241, A Resolution Ordering
A Public Hearing And A Preliminary And
Final Report On 68SL -1 For The Purpose Of
Providing Street Lighting For The Casco
Circle Area Of Casco Point, be adopted.
Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0).
Butterfield moved, Stubbs seconded, that
Resolution #242, A Resolution Ordering
Street Improvement 68SR -1 (Old Crystal
Bay Road) And 68SR -2 (Willow Drive)
And Awarding Bids Thereon,With Alternate
Surfacing Materials Subject To The- Project
Being, Done In A Fully Legal-.And "Poper

for the Street Department, be ordered.

request of the Police Department for
resuscitators to replace budgeted radio,
and the acceptance of the quotation of
Hillcrest Safety Equipment Company, be
approved. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0).

the All Fund Accounts 2139 tsirough 2227
and Liquor Store Accounts 6174 through
61829 be paid. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0).

Meeting be adjourned at 12:00 Midnight.
