Regular Meeting of the Village Council,

The Village Council met on the above
date with the following members present:
Mayor Ross, Councilmen Butterfield,

Searles, and Stubbs. Franzel absent.

Stubbs moved, Searles seconded, that the

The Mayor announced that this was the time
PUBLIC HEARING
and the place for a Public Hearing on the
HIGHWAY #12
•
matter of approving Minnesota Highway Depart -
Tent Preliminary Plans, Layout #9, for the
improvement of Trunk Highway #12 through
•
Wayzata and entering Orono. After all
members of the public present were afforded
•
an opportunity to be heard, the hearing
•
was closed.
•
The following appeared: J. Owens concerning
Variance; F. Herfurth concerning Division;
J. Dutcher and V. Gagne concerning Rezoning;
•
Mayor Barnes and Independence Village Council
concerning Steet Maintenance Contract and
•
Highway #12.

Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, that

Resolution #233, A Resolution Approving
Minnesota Highway Department Preliminary
Plans, Layout #9, For The Improvement Of

Trunk Highway #12 Through Wayzata And
Entering Orono, be adopted. Motion,

Searles moved, Stubbs seconded, that the
VARIANCE
request of Steve Major at 4705 North Shore

Drive, for a Variance of front footage of
24 feet and acreage 0.14 acre, be approved.

Butterfield moved, Stubbs seconded, that VARIANCE
the request of James Owens for a Variance 3329 Crystal Bay Road
• at 3329 Crystal Bay Road, be referred to
the Planning Commission for review and
• recommendation. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0).

• Stubbs moved, Searles seconded, that the VARIANCE
request of Joel Gainsley for a front -yard 3030 Casco Point Road
• setback at 3030 Casco Point Road, be
approved. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0)

• Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, that REGISTERED LAND SURVEY
the Registered Land Survey of Fredrick 645 North Ferndale Road
• Herfurth at 645 North Ferndale Road,
with his right -of -way easement increased
to 25 feet, with utility easements, with
these standards to apply to all similar
tracts served remotely by private road
and with the requirement that equal right -
of -way will be required on both sides, be
approved. Motinn, Ayes (4) - Nays (0).

• Club Liquor License, and any other activity
anticipated and subject to the provision
• that such future use may be limited, be
ordered. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0).

. Tax Board of Review meet in the Village
Office, July 15, 1968, at 7:30 P.M.,

For Appropriate Action, be adopted. Motion,
Ayes (3) - Nays (0). Stubbs abstaining.

ORDINANCE NO.96
•
Ordinance NO. 96, An Ordinance To Amend
Section 43.050 And 44.050 Of The Municipal
Code Of Orono So As To Prohibit Agents Or
Employees, As Well As Licensees, From
After Hours Operation Under A Setup Or
Club Liquor License, be adopted. Motion,
Ayes (4) - Nays (0).

The Liquor Store Manager reported on check
management.
•
• The Council requested maps be prepared of
lake accesses and those that were vacated
• within the last 10 years.
• Councilman Stubbs requested a May 1, 1968
• golf course operating statement and a
• liquor activity police report.
• Searles moved, Butterfield seconded, that ADJOURNMENT
• the meeting be adjourned at 11:30 P.M.
