RE: UNAUTHORIZED FILL, V90-6124 , LAKE MINNETONKA (27-133P) , STUBBS BAY
(#23) , CITY OF ORONO, HENNEPIN COUNTY
Dear Mr. Radke:
A follow-up. inspection of your property on September 18 , 1991 revealed
that the unauzhorized Aeacn sanci has been satisfactoriiy aiiered to
dimensions that do not require a DNR permit. Because you have chosen
voluntary restoration, you are not responsible for any violation or
field inspection costs, and violation file V90-6124 has been closed.
It is important to remember in the future that any project constructed
below the OHW that alters the course, current, or cross-section of a
protected water or wetland is under the jurisdiction of the DNR and may
require a permit. Work done without a valid DNR permit is considered
a misdemeanor according to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 103G. 245. For
your information, I have enclosed a brochure that summarizes the work
that can be done without a DNR protected waters permit.
A sand blanket permit must be obtained from the Minnehaha Creek
Watershed District (Ron Quanbeck @ 473-4224) for all sand blankets that
are placed within the watershed. We recommend that you obtain the
Watershed Districts permit, if you you do not already have one. You
are further advised that the City of Long Lake, and the U. S. Army Corps
of Engi:neers should also be consulted regarding any future shoreline
projects you may anticipate.
Your cooperation in resolving this matter is greatly appreciated.
Should you have any questions contact Area Hdrologist Ceil Strauss at
772-7910.
Sincerely,
