SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ORONO CITY COUNCIL
TUESDAY, MAY 6, 2003
ROLL
The Council met in a special meeting on the above - mentioned date with the following
members present: Mayor Barbara Peterson, Council Members Jim Murphy, Bob Sansevere
and Jim White. Representing staff were City Administrator Ron Moorse and Public Services
Director Greg Gappa.
Council Member Jay Nygard was absent.
Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
1. Award of Bid — Navarre Fire Station Site Work
Murphy commented that the site plan needs to be amended to remove the ADA parking
space from the north side of the vehicle bay apron, and to get credit from the MCWD for
the reduced hardcover.
Murphy moved, and White seconded, to award the bid for the Navarre Fire Station
site work to F.F. Jedlicki, Inc., in the amount of $304,719.50, per the Bonestroo letter
dated May 6, 2003.
Vote: Ayes 4, Nays 0.
2. Declaration Regarding Covenants on the Navarre Fire Station Property to Meet
MCWD Permit Conditions
White moved, and Sansevere seconded, to adopt the Declaration attached to the
Request for Council Action dated May 5, 2003 placing covenants on the Navarre Fire
Station property to preserve the wetland buffer areas and grassed swales, to sweep
all bituminous surfaces at least once per year, and to maintain the stormwater
management facilities on the site.
Vote: Ayes 4, Nays 0.
ADJOURNMENT
Sansevere moved, White seconded, to adjourn the Orono City Council Special
Meeting of May 6, 2003 at 5:43 p.m.
VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0.
