GIRL SCODT WEER, MARCH 12-18, 1989
WHEREAS, Gi r 1 Scouts of the U.S.A. recogni zed that
today' s girls will be tomorrow' s leaders; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. is the largest
voluntary organization for girls in the world and draws upon a
large resource of positive adult role models; and
WHEREAS, the Girl Scout Movement continues to emphasize
leadership and personal and career development for girls; and
WHEREAS, our community and world will be the direct
beneficiaries of the skilled young women who are Girl Scouts.
• NOW, THEREFORS BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council urges
the citizens of Orono to support the Girl Scouts in their
endeavors; by proclaiming the week of March 12-18, 1989, Girl
Scout Week in the City of Orono.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono,
Minnesota at a regular meeting held March 13, 1989.
