MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />• Monday, July 22, 2002 <br />6:30 o'clock p.m. <br />ROLL <br />The Council met on the above - mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor <br />Barbara Peterson; Council Members Bob Sansevere and Jim Murphy; City Attorney Thomas <br />Barrett; Representing staff were City Administrator Ron Moorse, Planning Director Mike <br />Gaffron, Zoning Administrators Paul Weinberger and Wendy Bottenberg, City Engineer Tom <br />Kellogg, Public Service Director Greg Gappa, and Recorder Kristi Anderson. <br />Absent were Council Members Jay Nygard and Jim White <br />Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. <br />*1. Planning Commission Interviews <br />Mayor Peterson welcomed the four of five applicants present for the interviews and invited the <br />first applicant to be seated while the others remained in the lobby. <br />Nancy Moe, Applicant - <br />0 Sansevere asked what interested her in the Planning Commission alternate position. <br />Moe, a resident of Orono since 1964, stated that she was very interested in how the land is used <br />and would like to be a part of the process. <br />Sansevere asked if she had experience in planning for other communities. <br />Moe stated she did not. <br />Sansevere asked if she had seen the Comprehensive Plan. <br />Moe indicated she had not. <br />Sansevere asked if she were to become an alternate would she be available or interested in <br />becoming a regular member. <br />Moe stated that she would be available. <br />Murphy asked what she found attractive about Orono. <br />Moe stated that she believes Orono is a gorgeous community, one they seldom leave even for <br />is vacation. It is accessible to the metropolitan area, has something for everyone, and the parks are <br />beautiful. <br />PAGE 1 of 35 <br />
