From; Willie Gibbs, ISTS Manager

Re: Landscaping Do's and Don'ts for Mound Systems, Quick Reminder
Do plant and maintain a fuli cover of grass and keep mowed to a normal height, this grass cover aids
in the evaporation of large amounts of effluent (the liquid left after the "othe" stuff has been removed)
in the summer time and allows the mound system to help breakdown nitrogen in the effluent.
Do water the grass over the mound in extreme dry conditions, sparingly.
Do avoid unnecessary foot traffic over the mound, mow it and stay off of it. This is especially true in the
winter time. Even human foot traffic can cause frost to penetrate the mound resulting in potential
freezing problems.
Do inspect your mound system annually for winter kill, (reseed i` necessary) animal damage,
(burrowingj or signs o`potetial`ai!ure.
Do not plant trees or shrubs on the mound system, smaller trees and shrubs may be planted at the
edges. Remember, that sunshine is the key to a heafthy mound system.
Do ask questions, if you have any concerns or questions conceneng you raound syster
please feel free to call me, 9 can be reached at 952-249-4626.

A Compliance inspection was completed for the existing on-site sewage
treatment system located on this property. The system consists of 2-1500
galton septic tanks, 1-1250 gallon pumping chamber (per original designj & a
pressurized mound system with a 10' xS5' rock bed built in 2003 for a 5
bedroom home. Soil boring #1 found mottled soil (redox features) at 1.8'
below the ground surface. Soil boring #3 found the originat soil at elev. 93.8
8 the bottom of the rock bed at elev. 93.3 leaving 0' of sand below the rock
bed 8 no separation from the bottom of the rock bed 8 redox #eatures. The
soils are mottled at the bottom of the sand & also compacted. Soil boring #2
found mottled soil at 1.7' below the surface. Soil boring #4 fond fhe original
soil at elev. 92.4 & the bottom of the rock bed at elev. 93.8 leaving 1.4' of
sand below the rock bed a 1.4' separation from the bottom of the rock bed
8 redox features. The soils are mottled at the bottom of the sand 8 are also
compacted. This system is classifed as non-comptiant with Minnesota
Chapter 7080 rules due to not meeting a 3' separation from the bottom of the
rock bed & redox features.
Soil boring #6 is located g" downslope of the rock bed. The original soil
(mottled) is at elev.92.1 with the bottom of the rock bed at elev. 93.3 leaving
1.2' of sand below the rock bed. With the 3% slope, 10' upslope would leave
.9' of sand 8R separation.
The original design completed by Advanced On-Site, Inc. indicated very dark
gray loam soil, not the clay loam fill soil that was found.
The tanks were not pumped at thts tine.
