 CITY OF ORONO
 a
MEMORANDUM
ti
F ,
!'f S H
DATE: September 3, 2015
TO: 790 Brown Road file
FROM: Jeremy Barnhart, Community Development Director
RE: Complaint received
On August 26, 2015, the city received a complaint regarding the excessive vegetation
removed from the lot at 790 Brown Road. The complainant noted that too many trees
have been removed, in violation of a variance received for construction of the lot.
On August 28th, Jeremy Barnhart and Melanie Curtis met with the complainant on the
concerns. Staff informed the complainant that the complaint would be investigated
and, if founded, corrections would be required.
On August 31st, Barnhart and Curtis inspected the subject property and met with the
property owner and landscape contractor. On site, we observed the removal of trees
and shrubs consistent with those marked and inspected on July 30th. These trees and
shrubs were less than 6 inches in size, or appeared to be diseased. No clearcutting was
evident. No violation of city code was observed.
