Thanks for getting back to me. Here is a revised drawing that should have all the info you are requesting on it. This can
be printed on an 8.5"x 11" sheet.
The diamond pier footings are designed to set on grade with long spikes driven into the ground. This is designed to do
minimal disturbance to the ground/slope.
The steps and landing will span approx. 60 ft—They will start at the top of the hill and land at the bottom. The land
levels out quite a distance from the lake.

I received your packet dropped off yesterday afternoon and I have some questions...
1. Gonyea Homes is now listed as the owner on your application instead of Tom Hogan. I assume this is because
Hogans don't own the property yet, correct? I will throw the previously emailed application form away and use
the one dropped off yesterday.
2. Regarding the stairs: I'm not sure of the intended construction.
a. How far down the property toward the lake will the stair extend? Based on your plans they appear to
stop mid-way to the lake.
b. What material will be used for the treads, risers, and landings?
c. Are the diamond pier footings set on grade or buried?
d. Are the treads set to hang on top of the landings (elevated above ground) or set on the ground?
e. The landings allowed per code are not to exceed 32 square feet in area (see below) —the upper landing
is too large.
Sec. 78-1282. -Driveways,stairways, lifts and landings.
(a) A driveway no wider than eight feet is permitted in the shoreland or tributary setback zone if the property has no other
frontage on or access to a public or private road.
(b) Stairways and lifts are the preferred alternative to major topographic alterations for achieving access up and down
bluffs and steep slopes to shore areas. Stairways, lifts and landings shall be allowed in the shore setback zone and
must meet the following design requirements:
(1) Stainrvays and lifts mus#not exceed four feet in width.
(2) Landings for stairways and lifts shall not exceed 32 square feet in area.
