� WHSR�AS, the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission has approved
y construction of the Minnetonka •Beach/Orono Sanitary Sewer Interceptor
;��_. Project 85-67; and

'�. � ��� : � W�RSAS, the City of Orono has also approved Project 85-67; and

WHEREAS, the Project is being constructed to eliminate overf lows
into Lake Minnetonka; and
WH$RBAS, it has been documented that the existing system has, due
to inadequate capacity, overf lowed into Lake Minnetonka an average of once
" per year_ for the past five years; and
:� WAEREA3, the City of Orono has been advisecl that Project 85-67 is
�� being considered for delay by the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission due
� °• to budgetary limitations; and

� . . WH$REAS, 'if there are delays of this Project, it will further
;�.�: � ' endanger the sa�ety, health, and welfare of the public and� the quality of
water ot, Lake Minnetonka. •
_ NOW, THSRRFORS B$ IT RBSOY.VED that the City of Orono does hereby
request the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission to maintain the current
schedule for construction of the Minnetonka Beach/Orono Interceptor Project
85-67, which schedule allows for beginning of construction in the fall of
- 1988. •
