Evelyn,
Our as builts do not provide info regarding sewer service stub elevations. You can assume in most cases that the sewer
stub was installed at a 2% grade from the main. To get a rough idea of what elevation that might be you can determine
the elevation of the main at the wye location for the sewer stub, scale the length of the sewer stub on the plan and
assume it goes up from the main at a 2% grade. In some cases risers were installed from the wye if the main was much
lower than it needed to be to serve the property. I can help you with this tomorrow when I am out if you like.
As a rule we wouid like to discourage new connections to the main.
Thanks,
Tom

Subject: Sewer Service Info for 920 Dakota Avenue
Tom and Scott:
A potential buyer is asking for information on the property regarding building a new house
to replace the old. The sewer service for this lot comes off a main running along the side
lot line rather than from the street. The new house would have to be located closer to
Dakota Avenue to comply with the rear setback. The lot is uphill from the street, so the
new basement floor elevation would be lower than the existing basement floor. Is there
any information available concerning the elevation of the existing service? I've looked as
the as-builts in the copy room but is there additional information someplace with the
actual elevation of the end of the service? Would there be any issues with them tapping
the main for a new service if that was necessary?
Thanks
Evelyn
