Dear Dave:
I am writing this letter at your request to document required work at the above referenced property.
On September 3, 1997, I conducted a footing inspection for the proposed addition. The existing
house did not have adequate footing depth at the point where the addition was being added on. I
requested that extra block be added on top of the new foundation so fill could be added to protect
the old foundation. I also requested that new foundation underpin the old foundation.
Because of poor soil conditions (several feet of black dirt), the footing for the addition had to be
deeper than normal to get down to adequate soil to support foundation.
